An industry veteran of nearly 30 years, Mark Shone is responsible for all aspects of financial planning and asset management, working directly with clients of the firm. Prior to founding Shone Wealth Management in 2005, he was a managing director at Neuberger Berman and Lehman Brothers. Mark has a degree in Finance from California State University, Sacramento, completed his certificate in taxation at UCLA, as well as a course of study at the Wharton School. Mark is committed to helping clients maximize their full wealth potential: He enjoys helping families and clients map out the financial lives they want to create by making smart decisions over time. He has extensive experience speaking on and guiding clients through topics such as retirement planning, preparing for the cost of education, investment allocation strategies, estate planning topics, insurance and behavioral finance. In his free time, Mark enjoys golfing, is an avid sports fan and a drummer for the band Stagefrite which plays cover songs from the 80’s to today.

Richard Gross, CFP®, CMFC®, MBA has been in the financial services industry since 2005. Prior to working as a fee-only wealth manager, he held executive level positions in the staffing and pharmaceutical industries. He has an MBA degree from Pepperdine University, an MS degree from Holy Names College and a BS degree from the University of Buffalo. Richard has extensive experience helping clients with retirement planning, investment planning, goal planning, equity compensation planning, cash flow planning, tax planning, insurance planning and estate planning.
Outside of the office, Richard enjoys walking, bike riding and taking yoga classes. Richard lives in Walnut Creek.
Vice President, Operations
Offering a wealth of well-rounded market experience, Gail has worked in the financial services industry since 1983: She has held various positions including bank manager, investment advisor, and compliance manager for major Wall Street firms. She is a graduate of the University of the Pacific. Gail is a long-time resident of the East Bay. She lives in Walnut Creek with Will, her husband of 26 years. She has two children, Jack and Kelly, who are college students. When she’s not at work, Gail enjoys golfing, hiking, traveling, gardening, wine and college basketball.
Griffin provides expertise in investments, financial planning and portfolio management. Prior to joining Shone Wealth Management, he worked as an associate advisor at Waddell & Reed, an advisory firm specializing in financial and investment planning. Griffin holds Series 7 and Series 66 licenses—a background that reinforces the need for ongoing plan review and balance. Griffin gained valuable experience as an intern at Northwestern Mutual in Sacramento; and at Streetwise Reports, a commodities market research firm. A graduate of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo’s Orfalea College of Business, he earned a BS degree in Quantitative Economics concentrated in Financial Management.
In his free time, he enjoys outdoor activities including beach trips and hiking. He’s not one to shy away from competition: Griffin is active in local sports leagues, playing baseball and basketball.
Brianna is a financial advisor here at Shone Wealth Management. She supports various projects in the financial planning process and specializes in 401k plan implementation as well as client engagement. A graduate from Saint Mary’s College of California, Brianna earned a BS degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Financial Management. Brianna also holds her Series 65 license, which qualifies her to provide investing and financial advice to clients. In her free time, Brianna enjoys biking, swimming, traveling, and hanging out with friends.
